Crescent City Christmas

Dad and I spent the holiday together this year.
Our time twas short so we spent it with precision.
We filled our two days with a shared love for the outdoors.
Hikes were in order; mountains, seas, trees.

____________
Dad taught me this some time ago, now I'm a believer.
Redwoods get something like 60 percent of their water from the fog.

____________
Dad and his truck in Jedidiah State Park.
We love the gravel road whose shoulder becomes forest uninterrupted.

____________
One of us expected this photo to be taken.

____________
Moonroof/cellphone photo opportunity.

____________
The immensity of these trees is hard to capture.
As seen from the interior of the full size Dodge pickup.

____________
We hiked down to a river which hosts salmon.
Their annual run was over, but we imagined them!

____________
The trees reminded us of Lord of The Rings.

____________
Gllleeeahhhaaa!!!!!!

____________
Dad wanted me to get these Jurassic Park ferns.
He said I could use them for reference, and I will!
They will make perfect roadside foliage for a shortcut!

____________
On our short drive back to town, we passed through this.
A rare old covered wooden bridge - awesome!

The coastline is picturesque.
